Welcome!
Doubly good
Philosophy
Philosophy? Yes, we have one!
Naturally, treating our guests to the very best is immensely important to us. And another matter close to our hearts is environmental sustainability: That’s why the vast majority of the dishes that our kitchen team magic up are made with top-quality, seasonal, regionally-sourced produce. We’re also exceptionally proud of our hotel’s own spring water which, thanks to our water treatment system, flows through our taps in crystal-clear purity. It couldn’t be more eco-friendly and regional! Wherever possible, we steer clear of plastic, opt for refillable products and do everything we can to minimise waste. We only have one Earth – and we want to look after it.

Mountains of Dolomites
Countless sagas speak of them, myriad books have been penned in their honour: We’re speaking about the breathtaking beauty of the legendary Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. You must have heard of them – but to appreciate their majesty in person, you absolutely must, at least once during your mountain hut holiday, behold them from our terrace.
The view of the mountain peaks of the Odle di Funes and the Sass de Putia mountains will take your breath away – we’re prepared to bet on it! Never fear though, you’ll get it back again over a nip of the strong stuff in the Rossalm bar!
Once upon a time
at the Rossalm hut
on the Plose…
It was the 1950s when our Rossalm first came into being in the form of a small shepherd’s hut. In winter 1975, a couple of skiers took refuge in the hut, lit a fire and burnt the Rossalm down to the ground. All that was left were the ruins, still there to this day on route no. 17. The new Rossalm in its present-day location was at that time a mountain hut with a barn, built a few years prior to the fire at the old Rossalm.
It wasn’t until 1985 that the Rossalm began its life in hospitality with a small kitchen, a rustic Stube lounge/dining room with seven tables and five bedrooms with a communal bathroom.
From 2005 onwards, the Rossalm truly blossomed under the tenancy of Peter Hinteregger, and in the fifteen years which followed, it transformed into what it is today: One of the most beloved Alpine huts in the land, where nature lovers are every bit as contented as happy families, insatiable foodies and all those who are crying out for a relaxing break.
